Korson's Tree Farms is a second-generation evergreen farm.

Wayne Korson, a graduate of Central Michigan University, and wife Vicki, established the farm in 1973. Wayne served on the Michigan Christmas Tree Association Board of Directors for ten years, serving as President for two years. Wayne was the National Director representing Michigan to the National Christmas Tree Association for six years. He was inducted into the Michigan Christmas Tree Association Hall of Fame in 2010 for his years of commitment and service to the industry.

In 2003, Rex and Jessica Korson bought the business from his parents, Wayne and Vicki. Rex is a graduate of Michigan State University with a degree in Marketing. Jessica graduated from the University of Michigan. Rex and Jessica have two sons, Jack and Thomas. Jack has his Masters of Business from Northwood University. He is currently working on the farm with plans to become the third-generation owner. Thomas is currently attending Northwood University.

Rex served on the Michigan Christmas Tree Association Board of Directors for nine years, three of which he was President. Jessica is currently on the MCTA Board serving as the current Vice President.

Rex has served on many advisories committees throughout the industry including the Christmas Tree Promotion Board. Rex served as Chair of the board. This board promotes research within the industry as well as the national marketing campaigns such as "It's Christmas. Keep it Real." and  "Joy to the Real". 

Korson's Tree Farms began competing and won the Michigan Christmas Tree Association's Grand Champion tree in 2007. Korson's took first place in the spruce category at the 2009 National Christmas Tree Association Tree Competition. Korson's won Reserve Grand Champion in 2010 and presented the tree to the Michigan governor in 2012. Korson's won Grand Champion again in 2013 and presented the Governor's Tree in December.

In 2015, Korson's competed in the National Christmas Tree Association contest. Korson's secured a Reserve Grand Champion win. With the win, seven Christmas trees were delivered to the Vice President's residence. The Korson family attended a reception in December, 2015 for the acknowledgement of this award.

In 2017, Korson's won the Michigan Grand Champion tree and presented to the governor. 

The Korson's competed again in 2024 at the Michigan level and took home the Reserve Grand Champion honor. They also won the Grand and Reserve Grand Champion award in their first ever wreath competition. They provided the Michigan Governor wreaths for two years and the residence tree in 2025. 

The farm competed at the 2025 National Christmas Tree Association tree contest. Korson's won the Grand Champion award, bringing the national championship to Michigan for the first time in over 40 years. 

Korson's supplied the Official White House Christmas tree to First Lady Melania Trump. The selected 18 1/2' tree was the centerpiece of the Blue Room Christmas decoration. The Korsons also supplied the Oval Office tree to President Trump.

Korsons would like to thank the entire staff on the farm. Without the help of every person on the farm, their successes would not be possible.
